Three-day weekends at SMSKLIMA: How a 4-day workweek changes employees' lives
More and more companies around the world are experimenting with a 4-day workweek. SMSKLIMA is one of the leaders of this trend in Poland, introducing this solution as one of the first companies in the HVAC industry. What are the benefits of this model? How does it affect the lives of employees and why did the company decide to take this step?
Why 4 work days a week?
The decision to introduce a shorter workweek was based on the desire to improve the quality of life of employees. As the company's management explains, it was a response to a modern approach to team management and research indicating that fewer working hours means higher productivity and greater employee satisfaction.
"We wanted to offer our employees more time for their private lives, without losing their effectiveness at work. Three-day weekends provide an opportunity for better rest, and also allow them to pursue their passions, spend time with their family or simply slow down," explains one of the representatives of the SMSKLIMA management board.
What do employees say about this? Paulina's story
Paulina, Head of the Purchasing and Production Preparation Department, emphasises that thanks to the 4-day working week she has achieved a better work-life balance.
“I have two small children, and now I can give them more attention. I do most of the household chores on my extra day off. I have always dreamed of being able to organize something special for my daughters on the weekend, and now I have the time. I can plan trips, extracurricular activities, and also simply enjoy time together at home. It has changed our lives," says Paulina.
Benefits for the company and the team
A shorter workweek does not mean a decrease in the quality of services provided by SMSKLIMA. On the contrary – employees, having more time to rest, are more focused and engaged during work.
"Our team's efficiency has increased because people come to work refreshed and full of energy. The 4-day work model also allows us to attract people who are looking for more flexible employment conditions," notes the HR manager.
Three Days for Yourself – the Future of Work?
The introduction of a 4-day workweek at SMSKLIMA shows that an innovative approach to work organization brings benefits to both employees and the company. Three-day weekends are not only a time to relax, but also an investment in health, family and passions - values that build lasting commitment and satisfaction among the team.
“Thanks to this change, I felt that the company really cared about us as people, not just employees,” Paulina sums up.
Will the 4-day workweek become the standard in the future? At SMSKLIMA we can already see how it positively affects life and productivity.
